SRINAGAR, August 12, 2025 — Deputy Superintendent of Police Sheikh Aadil has been officially reinstated to his post following a directive from the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to close all departmental proceedings against him. The decision comes after thorough investigations concluded that there was no evidence of wrongdoing under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

According to official sources, the closure of the case followed a comprehensive inquiry by the designated investigative agency, which found the allegations against DySP Sheikh Aadil to be baseless and “not proved.” Additionally, the court dismissed related charges under the Indian Penal Code after careful examination.

The inquiry commission responsible for the probe conducted a detailed and impartial review of the case, ultimately exonerating Sheikh Aadil of all accusations. Furthermore, an independent assessment carried out by the Intelligence Wing also cleared him of any misconduct.

In light of these findings, the Jammu and Kashmir government formally ordered the termination of all departmental proceedings against DySP Sheikh Aadil and instructed his immediate reinstatement to service.

This move marks the end of a period during which DySP Sheikh Aadil had been under suspension pending the outcome of the investigation. The reinstatement reflects the government’s confidence in the investigation’s findings and upholds the principle of fairness in administrative conduct.

The development has been welcomed by various quarters, emphasizing the importance of due process and the presumption of innocence until proven guilty in the justice system.
